Ingredients: Durum Wheat Semolina Water
Suggested Recipe: Penne with Cheese & Jalpeno Sauce, 3-4 Portions
  • Del Monte Gourmet Whole Wheat Pasta 300g
  • Butter 2-3tbsp
  • Garlic-Chopped 1tbsp
  • Onion-Sliced 1medium
  • Salt & Freshly Crushed Pepper to taste
  • Refined Flour 2tbsp
  • Hot Veg Stock / Water 2cups
  • Cheddar Cheese-Grated 1cup
  • Fresh Cream 1cup
  • Del Monte Jalapenos-Chopped ½ cup
  • Parsley Fresh-Chopped handful
  • Parmesan Cheese-Shavings 3-4tbsp
  • Method:
  • Cook the Del Monte Gourmet Whole Wheat Pasta in 3liters of salted boiling water for 9-11 minutes, stir occasionally and then drain well.
  • Heat butter in a large Frying pan, saute garlic and Onion in it, until translucent.
  • Add Refined Flour and seasonings, Mix and Cook on medium heat until Flour turns blonde in colour
  • Add hot stock gradually into it, whisking it all the time.
  • Continue cooking an simmer, stirring continuously to prevent sticking at the bottom.
  • Add Grated Cheese, Fresh cream and Chopped Jalapenos, mix well and remove from heat.
  • Toss Cooked Pasta in the Sauce or serve Pasta topped with hot sauce garnished with the shavings of Parmesan Cheese and Chopped parsley leaves.
