Cooking Directions (Serves 4):
Ingredients Required:

  • Vegetables 300g
  • Rice 250g
  • OIl 1tbsp
  • salt 1.5tsp
  • lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • water 1.3 ltr
  • curd 100g
  • ghee 1tbsp
  • Milk 1 tbsp
  • Kesar/ turmeric 1/4tsp
  • Cashew Nuts
  • Raisins
  • Recipe
    1. Boil 250g rice in 1 litre of water with 1 tbsp of oil, 1 tbsp of lemon juice, 1.5tsp of salt. Cook till 3/4th done (12-15 min). Drain excess water and keep aside.
    2. Take 300g cut vegetables(Potato cauliflower, peas, french beans, capsicum, carrot etc), entire contents of the packet, 100g curd and 300ml (2Cups) of water in cooking pan. Mix well, cover with a lid & cook for 18 to 20 min.
    3. Spread cooked rice in cooked vegetables in an even layer. Add cashew nuts, raisins and 1tbsp of pure ghee (clarified butter) to it.
    4. Mix 1tbsp. of milk abd kesar or 1/4 tsp of turmeric and spread over rice. Cover with a heavy lid and let it cook on steam for 8-10min, on low flame.
